Hey founders!

Hope you had a nice week so far. We spent it scrolling YouTube for Olympic highlights (still very sad it’s over). But the Paralympics will be on very soon!

Today, enjoy 3 short lessons on creating value.

How to Create REAL Value: 3 Questions

1/ Who is it for?

The way we see it, too many people go into business selfishly.

They have a lot of personal goals:

  • Create wealth

  • Espace poverty

  • Look cool

  • Gain power

  • Get respect

While each of these things are valid in their own right… they don’t do anything for anyone else.

Who would you rather work with?

  1. Business A: My goal is to hit $10K MRR in 10 months.

  2. Business B: My goal is to help my clients make $10K MRR in 10 months.

When you genuinely begin to help others and add value to their life/business,  that’s when you have something.

The more you can think about giving and creating real value for others (i.e. your customers) the more you will succeed.

2/ Did you talk to your customer?

Empathy might be the greatest superpower for your business.

Think about it:

When you put yourself in your customer’s shoes, you can:

  • Understand what they feel

  • Know what they need

  • Anticipate what they want

Great… so how do I gain empathy?

One piece of advice: go talk to your customers.

Get real feedback and genuinely hear it.

But beyond just talking to them, you need to get specific: how can I add even more value to you?

If you can ask that question, and truly listen and digest it, you will unlock some powerful answers to making your company better than you ever expected.

At the end of the day, you are not your customer. You need to give value to your customers. So find out what value or increase means to them.

Ask them. And then do that.

3/ Is It Good?

There’s a quote attributed to Steven Martin (legendary comedian)

“Be so good they can’t ignore you.”

In a business context, it's a call to focus on excellence in your product. It means that rather than relying on marketing, networking, or other external factors to gain recognition, the most reliable way to succeed is by consistently delivering outstanding value and quality.

Create an offer where the value is SO good, they would be silly to say no.

Where your value always outweighs the cost. Where the value will always leave them happy.

Where the value they get will always be more than what they are paying for.

90% of Startups Don’t Think This Way

We’re not conditioned to think this way – giving value first.

We naturally bend toward those selfish desires: what’s in it for me?

But this mindset is a massive unlock to build a real, enduring company.

How can you build a company of tangible value without giving your customers real value first? Don’t do it as an afterthought.

Make it the intention for your business and massive success awaits you.

We’ll leave you with some questions:

  1. What value are you going to give to others?

  2. How will it bring an increase to them?

  3. How will you ensure your offering has more value than you charge for it?

  4. Who can you interview to get their thoughts on your offering and how to add more value to it?

That's all folks. Hope you enjoyed today’s newsletter.
