How to Actually Grow Your Business on X

TRIBE Newsletter – March 7, 2025

Hey founders!

Before we begin... a big thank you to this week's sponsor:

What is your Online Identity?

Are you a somebody, or a nobody?

Many leaders are invisible online. Work with FounderBrands to separate from the pack.

Save time and grow your personal brand on X and LinkedIn.

Growing a business on 𝕏 (or any platform) isn’t about going viral.

The best accounts don’t just attract likes and followers—they turn engagement into revenue.

If you want to use social media as a real growth engine for your business, here’s the playbook:

1. Show Momentum—People Follow Success

People are drawn to businesses that are winning. If you’re not showing momentum, why should anyone pay attention?

Here’s how to prove you’re worth following:

  • Post client results – Share testimonials, case studies, and outcomes.

  • Show progress – Revenue growth, product milestones, team updates.

  • Before and after transformations – Show the impact of your work.

Instead of saying, "We help businesses grow," post:

“Just helped a client 5x their revenue in six months—here’s how.”

People don’t buy potential. They buy proof.

2. Engage with the Right People

Most people post and hope their content takes off. That’s not how platforms work. Engagement is a two-way street.

A few things we’ve seen work:

  • Comment on your ideal customer’s posts (with real insights!)

  • DM the right people (start actual conversations.)

Don’t just pitch cold in the DMs. Engage publicly first.

A well-placed comment on a potential client’s post can lead to a conversation without being salesy.

3. Post Content That Actually Stands Out

Posting generic content won’t cut it. Find ways to make your content memorable (remember Purple Cow?)

  • Use tactical posts and share insights people can apply

  • Try visual content to attract attention.

  • Test unique formats that share your signature style.

Instead of saying “Cold email works,” try:

“Our cold email campaign got a 73 percent open rate—here’s why.”

People don’t share generic advice. They share real, actionable insights.

4. Show the Human Behind the Business

People buy from people, not faceless brands. Nobody wants to follow a company logo.

They want to follow a person with a story.

Share your wins and losses. Talk about lessons learned. Show some personality!

For example, instead of just posting client success stories, share your journey:

“Lost a big client today. Here’s what I learned.”

Transparency builds credibility. The more real you are, the more people trust you.

The Formula: Attention → Trust → Sales

Growth isn’t random. It’s a repeatable system.

  1. Show momentum – Post proof that you’re getting results.

  2. Engage consistently – Be in front of the right people, daily.

  3. Post tactical, unique content – Make your account worth following.

  4. Be real, not just a brand – People connect with humans, not logos.

Which of these are you already doing? Which do you need to improve?

Your Next Moves:

  • Audit your last 10 posts—are they showing momentum?

  • Identify five ideal customers and engage on their posts this week.

  • Try a post that shares a win, a loss, or a lesson learned.

Have a great week!
